Street Garms guide

Size & Fit Guide

Use the tagged size as a starting point, then use the garment measurements on each product page to judge the actual piece. This matters most with pre-owned streetwear, where fit can vary by brand, model, season and cut.

The quickest method Measure a similar garment you already own, laid flat, and compare it with the measurements on the Street Garms product page.
01

How Street Garms measures garments

Measurements are shown in inches on the individual product page where available. The garment is measured flat.

Tops & outerwearMeasure the garment flat and without stretching the fabric.
Trousers & shortsStreet Garms lists waist as the full waist measurement, not the flat half-width.
A

Pit to pit

Used for tops and outerwear. Measured flat from armpit to armpit.

B

Shoulder to hem

Used for tops and outerwear. Measured from the top of the shoulder to the bottom hem.

C

Waist

Used for trousers and shorts. We measure the waistband flat from edge to edge, then double the figure before listing it.

D

Inside leg

Used for trousers and shorts. Measured from the crotch seam to the hem.

Compare like with like

Do not compare a garment measurement directly with a body measurement. Measure a similar jacket, hoodie, T-shirt, pair of trousers or shorts that already fits you well, using the same method shown above.

02

How to compare a garment you already own

This gives you a more useful fit reference than relying on the letter on the size tag alone.

  1. Choose the closest garment.Compare a jacket with a jacket, a hoodie with a hoodie, and trousers with trousers rather than using a different garment type.
  2. Lay it flat without stretching it.Smooth the garment naturally so the fabric is not pulled tight.
  3. Measure the same points.Use pit to pit and shoulder to hem for tops, or waist and inside leg for trousers and shorts.
  4. Compare the numbers.A small difference can change how a piece feels, especially through the chest, body length or trouser waist.
  5. Allow for your preferred fit.If you like a looser or closer fit, compare against a garment that fits the way you want this piece to fit.
03

Tagged size vs actual fit

The tagged size is the size shown on the garment label. It is useful, but it is not a universal measurement.

Why the same tagged size can fit differently

  • Brands use different size systems and blocks.
  • Different models from the same brand can be cut differently.
  • Fits can change between seasons and product categories.
  • Outerwear designed for layering can feel different from a T-shirt or sweatshirt in the same tagged size.
  • With pre-owned clothing, the exact garment in front of you is more useful than a generic brand chart.

When choosing between the two

Use the product measurements first

For a one-of-one item, the measurements shown on that exact listing are the best Street Garms reference for comparing fit. Use the tagged size as supporting information.

04

Fit across the brands we stock

We do not apply a blanket “runs small” or “runs large” rule to a whole brand. Use the exact item measurements because model and category matter.

Stone Island

Jackets, overshirts, knitwear, sweatshirts and trousers can use very different cuts. Compare the exact garment rather than assuming every Stone Island piece in the same tagged size will fit alike.

C.P. Company

Goggle jackets, Lens pieces, overshirts, knitwear and lighter layers differ by model and construction. Use the listing measurements for the piece you are considering.

Arc'teryx

Technical shells and other outerwear are model-specific and may be designed around different layering uses. Compare the exact chest and length measurements where supplied.

The North Face

Nuptse and other puffers have a different shape from shells, fleeces and casual layers. The product measurements are more useful than applying one rule across the brand.

Moncler

Jackets, gilets and lighter layers vary by model. Check the exact listing measurements rather than converting the tagged size through a generic rule.

Supreme, Palace & Palm Angels

Silhouettes can vary between releases and garment types. Compare like-for-like measurements from an item you already wear comfortably.

05

Shop by tagged size

Browse current one-of-one stock by the size shown on each garment label, then check the individual product measurements before ordering.

Size & fit questions

Quick answers for choosing a one-of-one pre-owned piece.

Should I choose by tagged size or measurements?

Use both, but give more weight to the garment measurements when they are available. They let you compare the exact item with something you already own.

Are Street Garms measurements body measurements?

No. They are garment measurements. Compare them with a similar garment laid flat rather than measuring around your body.

What if a listing does not show measurements?

Use the tagged size and product details as a starting point. If you need a measurement before ordering, contact us with the product link and the measurement you need.

Can you guarantee how an item will fit me?

No. Fit is personal and depends on your body shape and preferred silhouette. The measurements are there to give you a consistent comparison point.

Still unsure?

Send us the product link and tell us what you would like clarified before ordering.
